1 Minutes of Previous Meeting<=

3 Fabric Report |

Thanks were expressed to all who carried out ch=
urchyard
maintenance and cleaned the Church prior to the service in April. In addition, Mrs Griffin and Mrs
Carter were thanked for making the new seat covers, which will greatly ea=
se
preparation of the Church for services. 4.=

sp;
The stained glass window had been repaired and =
paid
for through the building insurance less the policy excess. The roof lead had also been repa=
ired
although minor leaks remained. 5.=
&nb=
sp;
During the recent wet weather the northern
drainpipe had fallen from the Church wall and there had been a collapse of
the dry stonewall on the northern boundary into the adjacent field. The drainpipe would need replaci=
ng and
could be fitted by the PCC. It
was decided that the Secretary would investigate whether the insurance po=
licy
covered repairs to the boundary wall. |

4 Treasurer’s Report |

Funds were sufficient to cover the planned
outstanding bills for the remainder of the financial year. A high interest, limited access =
account
had been set up for the bequest from Miss M Chambers. |

5 Loveden deanery Synod Report |

There was nothing to report from the Loveden
Deanery Synod. |

It was suggested that a small amount of the beq=
uest
should be used for minor repairs to the Church; these included such items=
as
replacing the chipboard floor for the rear pews, replacing the marble
diamonds in the Hussey Chapel that had been in-filled with concrete and
replacing the concrete in the central aisle with matching quarry tiles. 9.=

The executors had expressed a wish that some of=
the
money should be used in memory of Miss Chambers. It was decided that Mr Henderson=
-Findlay
would investigate the purchase of a new altar cloth and the Secretary wou=
ld
investigate regilding the candlesticks.&=

A dedication service would be arranged with an invitation extended=
to
the executors. |

The following events were planned during the ye=
ar:
Sunday 24th June: Pimms and Strawberry Tea at Old Garth Hall
courtesy of Mr and Mrs Watkin.
Sunday 29th July: Benefice Holy Communion at 9:30am. It=
was
decided that the Church would be cleaned on Saturday 28th July=
at
10:00am and Mrs Griffin would arrange for fresh flowers Su=
nday
30th September: Harvest Festival Evensong at 5:00pm followed b=
y a
Harvest Supper in Manor House Barn, courtesy of Mr and Mrs Paske. Mo=
nday
24th December: Carol Service at 6:00pm. Su=
nday
30th December: Benefice Holy Communion at 9:30am. 11. &n=

It was agreed that the money raised from the Pi=
mms
and Strawberry Tea should be used in memory of Mrs Irene Baker. A plaque was suggested but would
require a faculty. A new ca=
rved
collection plate was also suggested.&nbs=
p;
It was decided that Mr Paske would approach Mr Lord of Hough to
discuss the plate suggestion. 12. &n=

It was decided that the Secretary was to advert=
ise
the Harvest Supper in the next 2 editions of the In Touch magazine by 6 13. &n=

The Bridge Luncheon was planned for 19th=
sup>
September. It was decided M=

Carter would discuss the event with Mrs Dauban and provide an advert for =
the
next In Touch magazine. |

The moles in the churchyard continued to be a
problem. It was decided tha=

Paske would attempt to obtain appropriate control measures. 15. &n=

An electrical survey had been carried out in
accordance with the last Quinquennial Survey. Mr Watkin would obtain the appro=
priate
certificate. 16. &n=

A report within the Archdeacons Visitation lett=
er
stated that some churches were subject to excessive standing charges. It was decided that Mrs Carter w=
ould
obtain details and discuss options with the Treasurer. 17. &n=
bsp;
St Andrew’s Church, Holme Hale, Norfolk is
campaigning for a change in the law giving places of worship the same sta=
tus
as dwelling houses with regard to bats: the details are enclosed. They are seeking support form ot=
her churches
with similar problems. It w=
as
decided that the Secretary would complete the return form providing the
support of St Wilfrid’s Church PCC. |
